High & Outside: Fantasy Football Must-Starts (Week 13):
QB: Jared Goff
For the 2nd week in a row we’re going with Jared Goff as our QB. The Rams offense has been an absolute powerhouse as they play a weak Cardinals defense that ranks in the bottom 5 in pass defense.
RB: Leonard Fournette
Fournette is practicing in full for the first time all year leading up to this week’s matchup with the Colts. A full week of practice inclines us to believe that Fournette will be in for a large workload this Sunday.
WR: Devante Adams
Brett Hundley showed some signs of life last week as the Packers almost stunned the Steelers in a shootout. Hundley will face a much easier matchup this week against the Bucs who have the worst pass defense in the league. We expect Devante to be targeted all game and find the endzone at least once.
TE: Jared Cook
No Crabtree and no Amari Cooper for the Raiders this week so it’s a no-brainer to start Jared Cook this week as he will be sure to see the majority of the targets from Carr.
FLEX: Alvin Kamara
We are going to leave this man in the Flex position for the rest of the year (4th week in a row). Kamara is a beast and quite possibly one of the most athletic, versatile athletes in the entire National Football League right up there with Tyreek Hill. He is a human highlight reel and Sean Payton has proven that he knows exactly when and how to use this weapon whether it be running the ball or catching it.
DEFENSE: Los Angeles Rams
What a surprise this Rams team has been this year. Their offense is running on all cylinders and their defense has been just as strong. This defense has performed very well against bad offenses and we should see the same as they travel to Arizona to take on Blaine Gabbert and the Cardinals.
KICKER: Wil Lutz
Lutz is one of the most consistent in the league and he gets a TON of opportunities to kick the football. The Panthers defense matched up with the Saints offense will make for multiple drives being stalled and opening the door for Lutz to come and put a few through the uprights.
RISK OF THE WEEK: Julio Jones
Yes he’s one of the best in the league but picking up his large salary in a daily fantasy league this week will not be worth the reward. He’s a little banged up, he’s coming off a huge week which typically means we can’t expect the same again this week, and he faces a tough defense highlighted by Xavier Rhodes. Stay away from Julio if you can.
